QUEEN'S HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN
The North-Eastern Hospital for Children on Hackney road, Bethnal Green, London; was renamed to the Queen's Hospital for Children in 1908.
It was decided on Thursday at a special meeting of the governors of the North-Eastern Hospital for Children, over which the Duchess of Somerset presided, to alter the name of the institution to the Queen’s Hospital for Children. The Duchess remarked that they must all feel it a great honour that her Majesty should have allowed her name to be attached to the hospital.
It was decided to change the name of the hospital and to make a special effort to free the institution from debt in commemoration of the Queen’s kindness.
