As published in the Eastern Post, 04 April 1908

It was decided on Thursday at a special meeting of the governors of the North-Eastern Hospital for Children, over which the Duchess of Somerset presided, to alter the name of the institution to the Queen’s Hospital for Children. The Duchess remarked that they must all feel it a great honour that her Majesty should have allowed her name to be attached to the hospital.

It was decided to change the name of the hospital and to make a special effort to free the institution from debt in commemoration of the Queen’s kindness.

(also)..those present pledged themselves to promote the success of the bazaar to be opened on June 23rd at the Shoreditch Town Hall by Princess Henry of Battenberg.
