RULES
Class I is for those over 7 and under 18.
Class II is for those over 18.
Twelve marks are given each time.
However few competitors find out, they are asked to the answers in.
Senders must state name of book, play or poem and author from which the quotation is taken, also (if
taken from a play) act and scene and (if from a book or poem) chapter or verse.
Examples:-
Like Niobe all tears. Shakespeare, Hamlet, Act 1, Sc. 2.
A living dog is better than a dead lion. Holy Bible. Ecclesiastes IX. 10.
Name, address and class of sender must be attached to papers.
Those residing in England must send their answers in not later than June 1st. Those residing on the
Continent must send theirs in not later than June 30th.
Papers must be sent to the Editress of the Whitwar and everyone is warned to read the Rules
carefully through, as with other sets many competitors have lost marks by not attending to the
Rules.
