NORTH EASTERN HOSPITAL. A BAZAAR IN AID

The Hackney Baths were yesterday the scene a grand united bazaar in aid of the North Eastern Hospital for Children. The new building of the hospital is to be opened next year, and in order that the poor may reap the full benefit of the enlargement it is necessary that the maintenance fund should be increased. By the enlargement 700 additional children will be provided for; but this means increased cost of £3,000 which is exactly half as much as the present expenditure, whilst the number of children benefited is doubled.

Everyone in or connected with Hackney have given their support to the bazaar, and the stallholders are entirely representative. The Hackney Manor stall is held by Lord and Lady Amherst of Hackney, the Misses Amherst, Lord and Lady William Cecil, and Mr. and Mrs. Evelyn Cecil. The schools’ stall is under the management of the members of the London School Board. Mr. W. C. Bridgman, the officers of the Hackney Teachers' Association, and the managers and officers in Hackney, whilst the Rural Deanery of Hackney, the Free Church, the Parliamentary divisions of Hackney, Bethnal-green, and Shoreditch, the Municipality Hackney, the children and nurses, and the South Hackney Synagogue were all represented.

The bazaar will open again today and tomorrow afternoon and evening.
