My Charter
This site seeks to foster a courteous and constructive atmosphere in keeping with the charitable spirit in which The Whitwar was first conceived.
The project is non-partisan and does not seek to advance any political programme.
Personal information submitted via this site will never be sold or shared and will be used only for its intended purpose.
I have no connection with Gladys Warren beyond being the custodian of her surviving magazine. Nevertheless, I recognise that the problem of children living in poverty remains as urgent today as it was in 1903. In that spirit, I have chosen to continue her generous endeavour under The Whitwar name.
While the original aims of The Whitwar centred upon supporting the Little Folks’ Ward at the North Eastern Hospital for Children in London, this revived project will remain unaffiliated to any one organisation or institution. I will endeavour to support children’s charities more broadly, without bias or favour, and in a spirit of fairness and independence.
The Whitwar project is not a registered charity and will always remain not-for-profit. Where funds are raised through third-party platforms, those funds are paid directly to the nominated charitable organisation. Should any money be generated through this project by other means, it will be donated to a children’s charity of my choosing.
I will not charge charitable organisations, or those engaged in related benevolent work or events, any fee for advertising or being signposted on this site.
All original written content published here is freely dedicated to the public domain under Creative Commons CC0. It may be shared, adapted, or reused without restriction. I ask only that it be used in a spirit of goodwill. This dedication applies solely to original writing by the site author and does not extend to third-party material, archival scans, images, or quoted works, which remain subject to their respective rights.
This site will, where possible, seek to present historical material accurately and in good faith. Any errors that are discovered will be corrected promptly. Readers who wish to contribute information or suggest amendments are warmly invited to make contact.
Finally, parts of this site may signpost readers to supportive charitable organisations and resources. Such references are offered in good faith and without endorsement beyond their stated mission.
